Cookie Policy
This policy explains how UK Comps Club (ukcompsclub.co.uk), operated by Northern Design and Marketing Ltd, uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember your actions and preferences (such as staying logged in) over time.
2. The cookies we use
We use three categories of cookie: strictly-necessary (always on, needed to run the site) and, only with your consent, analytics and marketing cookies. We never use cookies to make automated decisions about you, and you can change your choices at any time.
| Cookie | Purpose | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Authentication / session | Keeps you securely logged in to your account. | Strictly necessary |
| Age confirmation | Remembers that you’ve confirmed you are 18 or over so we don’t ask every visit. | Strictly necessary |
| Security / anti-fraud | Helps protect the site and your account from abuse. | Strictly necessary |
| Cookie preferences | Remembers the cookie choices you made. | Strictly necessary |
| Bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile) | Protects sign-up and entry forms from bots and automated abuse. Turnstile may set a strictly-necessary token and processes your IP address and limited device/browser signals to tell humans from bots. It is not used for advertising. | Strictly necessary |
| Analytics (PostHog, Google Analytics / GA4) | Helps us understand how visitors use the site — which pages and features are used — so we can improve it. Set only if you accept analytics. | Analytics (opt-in) |
| Marketing (Google Ads / remarketing, Meta, TikTok, Reddit) | Lets us measure our adverts and show you relevant ads on those platforms (including remarketing). Set only if you accept marketing. | Marketing (opt-in) |
3. Your choices
Strictly-necessary cookies don’t need consent because the site can’t function without them. Analytics and marketing cookies are off by defaultand only set if you opt in via our cookie banner — you can accept all, reject all (“Essential only”), or choose each category in “Customise”. You can change your mind at any time: clearing your browser’s site data resets the choice and we’ll ask again. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site (such as logging in) may then stop working.
4. Analytics & marketing providers
For analytics we use PostHog and Google Analytics (GA4) as processors to measure site usage in aggregate. For marketing we use Google Ads (including remarketing), Meta (Facebook/Instagram), TikTok and Reddit to measure our advertising and show relevant ads. These run only with your consent. We do not sell your personal data. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data, the transfers involved, and your rights.
5. Changes
If we introduce any further non-essential cookies in future, we’ll update this policy and ask for your consent first.
